Since we see ourself as a hardcore roleplaying guild, we have some rules on naming. All these rules may be subject to change, if lore dictates.

We use first names only!
Reason: We don’t know enough of the races and the lore to tell with certainty what kind of names the folk of nave have. So we keep it simple until we know more.

We use the Characters name as Username on this site
Exception: If you don’t have a character yet, you can use any name, but it will be changed as soon as you have a char.

We use our real life names internally
Reason: We want to promote a sense of community and friendship. So we use our real names (have to be included at registration) when addressing each other. This only applies for OOC and Meta-Communication of course!

We do not accept names from well known people, fictional or real!
Reason: We advocate a certain quality of RP and thus expect our members to come up with their own, original names. If you need help finding one, ask in the forums.

Try to create a truly new and unique name for your character
Explanation: Many players tend to re-create the same character in many games over and over. Usually this character carries the same name throughout his existence. The name is what gives the character his first glimpse of personality and if you re-use a name over and over again, you will use a very similar character too. This not only robs you from one of the great RP experiences, but also makes a character that is bound to the history of the player. Experience shows, that this can lead to complications if such a character is introduced into a new setting.
